This new, 1:12-scale model is my first fully scratch-built model in this scale.  As with the Sharknose, I have already built a 206 S Spyder in 1:43-scale.  This is the same car (works car chassis number 004), but is car #12 from the 1967 1000km of Monza.  It was driven by the British driver Jonathan Williams, who was partnered with the German Günter Klass.  Unfortunately the car did not finish the race due to a problem with the head gasket and Klass did not get to drive.

The bodywork has been made using plasticard and the chassis is in brass.  Various other parts of the car such as the fins and the covers have also been scratch-built in brass. The scratch-built engine has been made using a combination of materials such as plasticard and resin.  The steering linkage has been scratch-built in brass, and other parts, such as the 'trumpets' (velocity stacks) have been made in turned aluminium.

The dashboard has been scratch-built using plasticard, and the various switches are in turned aluminium. The steering wheel has been scratch-built using a combination of plasticard, brass (for the wheel and the spokes) and aluminium (for the centre).

Other scratch-built parts include the pedals in plasticard; the gear stick in turned aluminium mounted on plasticard with a brass linkage; and seats in plasticard painted using artist oils.   

The photos of the finished model were uploaded in March 2022. The first photos were added in March 2020, with further additions in April and October 2020, and then June 2021 showing the work on the model during the spring of 2021.

The finished model was on display at Retromobile 2022 and 2023.
