1:43-Scale, Hand-built Model of the Ford GT MkII, Le Mans 1966 by Pierre Laugier LP Creation

One-off, 1:43-Scale, Super-detailed, Fully-opening, Hand-built Model of the Ford GT MKII, Le Mans 1966

This model was a commission and is a transformation of an AMR kit. It was on display at Retromobile 2017. This version is car #01 from Le Mans 1966 driven by Ken Miles & Denny Hulme into second place.

Although this model is based on a kit, it has been greatly modified with lots of new, fine detailing and scratch-built parts, particularly in brass. The photos show the new rear of the car in brass, which is fully hinged and opening. I made a resin mould from the white metal kit to create a "bodybuck’ which I used to fashion the new brass parts of bodywork. Other new brass parts include a new bonnet lid and a new engine, amongst other things.

The "work-in-progress" was on display at Retromobile 2016 and at The London Classic Car Show 2016 in February 2016. The model was completed in December 2016.

This is a one-off model and has now been sold, but if you are interested in getting a quote for a similar model, please do not hesitate to Contact Me.
