One-off, 1:43-Scale, Super-detailed, Fully-opening, Hand-built Model of the Porsche 911 RSR 'Sunoco', Watkins Glen 1973

My new 1:43-scale model of the Porsche 911 RSR 'Sunoco' achieved 6th place at the 1973 6 Hours of Watkins Glen, the final round of the 1973 World Championship for Makes, driven by Mark Donohue and George Follmer.

The model is based on an AMR kit, but, as with my previous models, I have used my own scratch-built parts to create a fully-opening, super-detailed model.

As can be seen in the photos, the interior of the model has been completely transformed using scratch built parts to create a new cockpit and new front and rear compartments.  The front and rear opening covers and doors have been scratch-built in brass, as have the side and rear windscreen surrounds, amongst other parts.

The new engine is also scratch-built, as are the dashboard and interior instruments, fuel fillers, and various fuel lines and cables and lubricant cans, amongst others.

The photographs shows how the model developed during 2024 until its completion in late 2024.  The model will be on display at Retromobile 2025.

This one-off model has now been sold, but if you would like a quote for a similar model, please do not hesitate to Contact Me.
